GURUGRAM: MCG taxation wing has issued a warning letter to a private agency after a zonal taxation officer alleged that his bills were left on the road outside the house and not handed over to them directly.

The firm, hired by the civic body for distributing the property tax documents, has also been asked to hand out acknowledgement sheets to be filled by property owners.

“The distributors have to visit the site and handover the documents to the residents, fill the details of the property in a proforma provided to them, and mention acknowledgement with his name and signature. We have recently come to know that the distributors are not giving out the bills properly,” an MCG official privy to the matter, said.

“In this case, we did not get the acknowledgement letter. This is why information of property owners like mobile number and house number or objections are not being uploaded on the NDC portal,” read the letter sent by the civic body’s taxation department to the private agency.

There are a total of 6.4 lakh residential and commercial properties, which will be given these assessment notices that will also have their outstanding dues of property tax.

MCG has outsourced the work of distribution of tax assessment notices-cum-bills to a private agency and their workers have started distributing the bills and fetching the record of the property owners in an acknowledgment sheet.

The property owner can check the data recorded with MCG and give the correct details on the spot.

The workers will record the correct data and subsequently the changes will be made in the database by uploading the information on the NDC portal.
