NEW DELHI: Udaipur Cement Works (UCWL), a subsidiary of JK Lakshmi Cement, has increased its cement production with the expansion of its clinker facility. This capacity expansion has been funded through a mix of debt & equity.
The company has commissioned its clinkerisation unit of 1.50 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) at Udaipur. With this, it has doubled its clinker capacity from 1.50 MTPA to 3 MTPA.
This growth is facilitated by the availability of land and the necessary limestone reserves at the company’s existing Mines.
Shrivats Singhania, director & CEO of the company said, “To sustain and flourish in this demanding and competitive market, it is imperative for us to adapt, cater and grow with the consumption trends. We foresee a substantial uptick in the cement demand in the upcoming years. By the end of FY 23-24, our total cement capacity will more than double to 4.7 MTPA from the existing 2.2 MTPA.”
The company had recently completed its rights issue of Rs 450 crore.
