CHANDIGARH: The special PMLA court for Haryana in Panchkula on Friday granted regular bail to Ireo group’s managing director Lalit Goyal, who has been in custody since July, a month after the enforcement directorate registered the case.

Soon after the court orders, Goyal’s counsels and kin furnished the bail bond before the special PMLA judge Rajeev Goyal, who allowed bail.

Goyal has earlier sought bail on medical grounds, but the plea was rejected in August.

He is the third accused businessman to be released on bail. Earlier, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Basant Bansal and Pankaj Bansal of M3M.

This case is being linked to the one registered by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Haryana involving M3M realty group MD Roop Kumar Bansal, former CBI judge Sudhir Parmar and his nephew Ajay Singh Parmar. The special PMLA court has issued production warrants for Roop Kumar Bansal for October 18.
