AHMEDABAD: After getting a poor response to the new impact fee law, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched a campaign to remove unauthorized construction in the city.

On Monday, the civic body demolished illegal constructions in areas such as Bodakdev, Bapunagar, Fatehwadi and Vatva.

In Bodakdev ward, a commercial structure covering 1,614 square feet built without proper permits near SG Road was demolished. In Fatehwadi, an unlawful residential unit on 3,443 square feet was razed.

At Ghanashyam estate in Bapunagar, an illegal structure covering 3,766 square feet was torn down.

In Vatva, two unauthorized commercial units covering a total of 775 square feet were pulled down. The civic body razed unauthorized constructions on a total of 9,598 square feet in the city on Monday.
