MARGAO: The state government has constituted a committee each at district and taluka level under Rule 4 of the Goa Stamp (Determination of True Market Value of Property) Rules, 2003 to determine the annual statement of minimum land rates as per the provisions contained in the rules.

The taluka-level committee is required to complete, finalise and submit the recommendations to the district collectors by October 15 of every year, while the district-level committee is required to submit the recommendations by October 31 of each year to the revenue department for issue of notification by January 1 of every year.

The taluka-level committee is headed by the deputy collector and SDO as chairman, with taluka mamlatdar, town planner, assistant engineer (PWD), as members and taluka sub-registrar as member secretary.

The district-level committee is headed by district collector as chairman, with district registrar, senior town planner, executive engineer (PWD), as members and deputy collector (revenue) as member secretary.
