Amc Puts Out Guidelines On Percolation Wells, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate
AHMEDABAD: Municipal commissioner M Thennarasan recently issued guidelines to ensure proper maintenance of percolation wells built at all commercial and residential properties.
The guidelines issued by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on September 29, mandate that builders submit notarized undertakings guaranteeing proper maintenance of percolation wells, which are mandatory for getting building use (BU) permission.
The civic body had earlier ordered builders to pay Rs 75,000 as a deposit for percolation well while applying for BU permission.
The guidelines require officials to annually check whether percolation wells are functional. They have to submit a report and issue notices if a percolation well is not functional.
Five years after the construction ends, builders have to get a certificate from the AMC that the well is functional and only then will they get back their deposit.
