Solar Panels On Every Bldg In 85 Colonies Soon, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate
INDORE: Eyeing Solar City tag for Indore, as many as 85 colonies have been identified by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) to ensure installation of solar panels at cent per cent residential structures.
In a meeting led by mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and IMC commissioner Harshika Singh, the civic body decided to identify one colony each in all 85 wards of the city and encourage residents to install solar panels at their houses.
Various activities will be organized while the benefits of switching to green energy will be popularized among the consumers, the mayor said.
He also asked the senior officials concerned for identify vacate land of IMC’s ownership and make plans of its development to help increasing the civic body’s revenue.
“A survey of the community halls along with crematoriums will also be taken up for restoration works, if any, required there” Bhargava said, adding that an appropriate spot will be identified in Bhawarkuan area to setup a library there.
Besides, a survey of IMC-owned markets will be carried out to explore its condition and possibility of redeveloping high-rise commercial buildings there, he said.
According to the Mayor, thousands of students reside in and around Bhawarkuan area and study in hundreds of government and private institutes there while IMC’s library will help them in their preparations.
