MOHALI: The sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) has issued notices to five real estate developers for draining out water from their projects on to the national highway in Zirakpur, creating traffic bottlenecks.
The action came after NHAI lodged a complaint with Mohali deputy commissioner (DC) Aashika Jain during a meeting held to discuss ways of preventing chaos on the highway.
The DC asked NHAI authorities to streamline traffic bottlenecks on the national highway and install permanent pumps at strategic places to drain out stagnant rainwater.
She also asked officials concerned to maintain the NHAI road towards Chandigarh, Ambala and Patiala in such a way that traffic flowed smoothly.
SDM Himanshu Gupta told the DC that five notices had been issued to certain housing societies and projects. The DC also reviewed ongoing works by NHAI and asked officials to expedite pending works.
