VIJAYAWADA: The Supreme Court on Friday declined to interfere with the AP high court order staying construction of houses in R-5 zone in capital Amaravati.

However, the apex court issued notices to the respondents and posted the matter for hearing in November.

The state government moved the apex court challenging the order of the high court.

Arguing on behalf of the state government, senior counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the high court wrongly interpreted the Supreme Court order while granting stay on construction of houses.

He said that the Supreme Court declined to grant stay on distribution of house site pattas with a rider that the pattas will be subject to the outcome of pending writ petitions before the high court.
