LUCKNOW: Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob on Monday warned the EESL, a PSU, hired by Lucknow Municipal Corporation for maintenance of street lights across the city, to be ready for an FIR if all lights don’t become functional within a week.
At a meeting to review the status street lights in the city, Jacob reprimanded officers of the LMC and the PSU. She said all the street lights of the city should either be changed or repaired within a week.
“All street lights should be functional before Diwali,” she directed the officials, advising them to set up a joint team to survey street lights on main roads, intersections and local markets.
Reprimanding chief engineer of rubbish removal and streetlight department of LMC Rakesh Katiyar, she said that any negligence will invite strict disciplinary action. She directed LMC to clear payments of companies engaged by it for carrying out various worlks.
