GURUGRAM: Aggrieved flat owners of Chintels Paradiso in Sector 109 staged a protest against the developer and the district administration at Jantar Mantar on Sunday.

Protesters alleged that they are being forcibly asked to vacate their flats and the builder is neither paying rent for the alternative flats nor is giving fair price for the flats as per the market price.

Later in the day, they submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister’s Office and the ministry of housing and urban affairs seeking their intervention to reconstruct the flats.

They pointed out that they are in a doldrum over the last one and half year mainly because of poor construction quality material and sheer negligence on part of the DTCP, which granted OC to the unsafe building.

Manoj Singh, one of the homebuyers, said they have been requesting the district administration to provide resolution on the similar lines of Delhi’s Signature View Apartment.

“The administration should order the developer to reconstruct the flat and provide market rentals till offer of possession. However, they are not paying any heed to our concern and passing orders arbitrarily. We have been forced to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar and demand ‘Ghar Ke Badle Ghar’ to PM Modi.” he added.

They have also alleged of misusing of disaster management act by the district administration to favour the developer and forcing people to agree to refund offer, which is way less as compared to market rate.

However, the representative of the developer could not be reached for comment.
