MADURAI: Residents of Melavasal housing Board and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) party members on Wednesday carried out a protest against the Madurai corporation’s poor upkeep of the housing board complex.

This is due to fewer number of sanitary workers assigned to clean there and lack of mass cleaning in the last few months.” He said that the corporation is neglecting the housing board.

P Ravi Kumar, Madurai south secretary of VCK, said, “Most of them are sanitary workers living in the complex and corporation follows a modern way of untouchability by denying basic services to residents of the complex.” He said a road picketing will be conducted if the corporation doesn’t heed the demand.
