GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat government on Friday appointed retired IAS officer M D Modia and IAS officer M A Gandhi as members of the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA).

Modia has served in various capacities in the state administration, including in the chief minister’s office (CMO). He was named officer on special duty in the CMO after Bhupendra Patel was sworn in as the chief minister in September 2021. Gandhi, who was the managing director of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), was transferred to GujRERA on Friday.

In July this year, retired IAS officer Anita Karwal was appointed as the chairperson of GujRERA. The post had been lying vacant since November after the then chairman Amarjit Singh retired.

After P J Patel, the only member secretary who handled project registrations, alterations and extensions, retired on July 7 this year, all GujRERA related processes had come to a halt.
