INDORE: The final layout for legalisation of 100 colonies in Indore has been published.

Indore collector Ilayaraja T, who on Wednesday led a meeting of the colony cell department, reviewed the progress of legalizing the illegal colonies. The meeting was attended by Indore Municipal Corporation commissioner Harshika Singh, Indore Development Authority CEO RP Ahirwar and ADM Sapna Lowanshi.

ADM Lowanshi said a total 297 illegal colonies under IMC limit have been identified for development of required civil infrastructures and final layout of a total 100 colonies has been published.

These 100 illegal colonies have been found eligible to provide building permissions, electricity, and water connections. In the next phase, the collector instructed the officials concerned to publish the final layout of development of 54 more illegal colonies by July 10.

In the meeting, the health department’s officials informed the collector about requirement of land at around half-a-dozen locations to develop Sanjivani Clinic. As per the proposal, Sanjivani Clinics will be developed in all 85 wards of the city. At present, four clinics have been developed, while construction at 42 places is underway.

In the meeting, the collector also reviewed hurdles and issues, including shifting of water and drainage line, traffic diversion, encroachment removal, shifting of a vegetable market and some structures of IMC, arising before IDA in ongoing construction of four flyovers at Khajrana, Luvkush, Bhawarkuan and Futi Kothi square. So, the collector asked the departments concerned to resolve all issues in the given time limit.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials also informed the collector about the hurdles, including 10 religious structures and some houses posing as hurdles in Bicholi Hapsi, Simrol and Mhow area, in ongoing construction of Indore-Edlabad Highway.

They also sought support of Indore forest department in making a way for a 12 km long stretch through its jungle for construction of road.
