PANCHKULA: The department of the district town planner (DTP) carried out a demolition drive at two illegal colonies in Haripur Chaopar village.
A house in DLF Valley was sealed for violation of building plans on Friday. The drive was carried out under the periphery control area and Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
During the drive, roads, boundary walls and damp proof course (DPC’s) of illegal colonies were demolished using JCB machines, said district town planner (DTP) Jaideep. He added that the colonies had been declared illegal and the action was legal.
Assistant district town planner (ADTP), Ashok Kumar, subdivisional engineer (SDO) Vinod Kumar, public health engineering department, Kalka junior engineer Deepak and police forces demolition squad were present.
DTP Jaideep said that before the action the defaulters were given notices on the illegal constructions. He underlined the need to take permission from the director, town and country planning department, Haryana before developing a colony or investing in a shop or house in a colony. He warned people against investing in any house or shop in colonies without the permission of CLU / license.
