MOHALI: Five persons, including two women, were arrested for allegedly getting a land registered on fake documents, said Mohali police, who secured their two-day remand on Thursday.
They have been arrested on the complaint filed by Kuldeep Singh, naib-tehsildar-cum-joint-sub-registrar, Zirakpur.
The accused are Sunil Kumar Taneja, Gunjan Sharma, Anu Ahuja, Nachhatar Singh, and Ganesh Kumar, who tried to get a land worth Rs 3.46 crore registered in Nabha village of Zirakpur. They had gone to the tehsil office in Zirakpur with fake documents.
They have been booked under sections 420, 465, 467,468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
In this regard, the tehsildar also informed Derabassi sub-divisonal magistrate, Zirakpur deputy superintendent of police and the matter wasfurther reported to the district magistrate.
