More than 460 building sites get directives from civic body, ET RealEstate
MUMBAI: After inspecting around 815 construction sites on Friday, the BMC has issued written directives to 461 sites to adhere to the air pollution control guidelines.
The civic body also has threatened to issue stop-work notices or to seal the sites if the norms are not complied with at the earliest. Construction projects have been given a time-frame to comply with the norms.
Taking cognisance of the deteriorating air quality in the city, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had directed BMC to take corrective measures. The civic body is taking steps on a war footing level in all the 24 wards in their jurisdiction.
Air pollution mitigation norms were released last week, and the ward officers have been directed to form teams to monitor the compliance of norms.
