BHUBANESWAR: In a relief for Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the housing and urban development department has written to Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) to exempt an affordable housing project in Ghatikia of registration fees.

In a letter to ORERA chairman, director (housing) Debasish Singh said BDA has submitted the application along with requisite documents for exemption of registration and late registration fees for the project. He said a meeting was held last April in which the principal secretary in the housing and urban development department had recommended ORERA to waive off registration fees for the project.

“ORERA is recommended to allow registration of the affordable housing project at Ghatikia for rehabilitation of slum dwellers and economically weaker sections with nil fees,” Singh said.

Singh asked the ORERA chairman to modify its portal for registration of real estate projects so that BDA can execute affordable housing projects smoothly.
