ED Conducts Searches on Premises of Real Estate Firms in Chennai, ET RealEstate
CHENNAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday launched search operations on the premises of some Chennai-based real estate entities. Searches were conducted in T Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur and Anna Nagar.
Iyra Builders and Vishnu Granites were some of the targets by the ED to gather evidence of money laundering and financial misconduct, said sources.
ED sleuths accompanied by CRPF personnel reached the premises of a businessman named Navin in Thiruvanmiyur. Another team arrived at Iyra builder’s office in T Nagar.
In Anna Nagar, the house of a businessman named Subramaniam was searched by ED sleuths. Similarly, three ED sleuths searched the house of Vishnu Reddy, a granite businessman, in Kotturpuram. The ED did not reveal the background for the searches.
Enforcement officers collected digital financial documents, account records, and property holdings associated with the targeted entities for verification, said sources. The searches might continue on Sunday, they added.
