NEW DELHI: Lightberry Innovations Ideas hopes to grow over 20 per cent in 2020, said Manoj Mehta, director of the company. The company currently has a presence in nearly 18 cities and want to have a pan India presence. Edited excerpts:

How has your company performed in the last one year?

Our business has grown more than 20% in the last one year and we are expecting much more than that. At present we have a presence in more than 15-18 cities. We have a strong market base in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala. We are targeting to have a pan India presence in the coming year.

At present we are into commercial and residential segments. We are covering industrial to an extent and we have good coverage in architectural sector. We are targeting to be a total lighting solution by the end of 2021.

What is your expansion plan?

We are trying to set up a dedicated manufacturing unit. At present we have a small size and are planning for expansion. We will set-up our own manufacturing unit in India by November 2021 which will help us increase the quantity by more than 70 percent.

What’s your take on the lighting industry of India?

Basically, the Indian market is highly competitive and has very strong fundamentals. The competition is high but you have to find out the way to survive and expand.

One has to consider basic things like the products which are suitable for the masses, cater your daily requirements and products which can be useful at economical pricing. If pricing is good, then you can lead the market along with the quality part.
